Find the provider of a cell phone number

Question:

How can I determine which provider is behind a certain cell phone number?

Answer:

You could just call that number and ask the owner. Or you could listen to the voice mail announcement and compare it to those that you know.

Or you could use this web site http://www.reversephonedirectory.com/ and try a reverse search.
That site will tell you that they did not find a (people) listing for your phone number but they will tell you something like the text below (better than nothing)

UPDATE:
I found today this site: http://fonefinder.net/
I ran it on my own cell phone number and I really liked their (accurate) output.

The phone number "(xxx) xxx-xxxx" is a Salinas, CA
based phone number and the registered carrier is Cellco Partnership
Dba Verizon Wireless - Ca.
However, due to number portability, some numbers have been transferred to
a new service provider other than the registered carrier.

it appears fonefinder.net doesn't allow full number lookups any longer. I used the csharp lookup tool and found that there were several numbers that returned Verizon Wireless, though they were landlines. I'm assuming that Verizon is there landline provider. I wonder if it returns Cingular Wireless for landlines that AT&T provides...

Thanks for the links though!

Hi, there

This one definately works! Try this one for your telephone and cell phone lookup: http://www.fonerecords.com

I use the link provided by the website to check my American friend's unlisted landline and cell phone numbers and the search worked out well..!

Good Luck and have fun with your reverse phone search...:)

Hi,

May be you can try the below website, as I got my American friend's unlisted phone number via the site:

http://www.fonereco..okups.php

I was using her name and address to find her phone number, but you can also search using telephone, cellular or wireless phone number or SSN records.

Go check it out your phone number now, and see what you can find..:) GOOD Luck!

Luke
