'Good Cheap Web Hosting with good customer service'
This review is written about their $7.95 'shuttle' plan. For this low price they offer 3 GB web space, one mysql database, the usual features and toll-free phone support that actually answers the phone and can help you out.

The killer criteria in my project was that I needed Linux shell access and I sent an email about this. They told me that because of their 'shared environment' they do not allow SSH or Telnet on these plans. I would need to buy a dedicated server to get SSH access.

From what I have read on forums, lunarpages is very good in reliability, security and speed. I was pleased with their customer support although I had little exposure only (and I didn't like their answer).

The amount of web space (3 GB) and traffic (40 GB/ month) is pretty good but some companies like Canaca top these numbers.

If are the one who is going to build the web site and you don't know what shell access is then chances are that you might not miss it. In that case, I can recommend Lunarpages for you. You are getting a very reliable host with very good customer support.

However, if you are a programmer, you will know that shell access is a very powerful feature and you better look elsewhere.

Beware: their hani server crashed Oct 2007, wiped my site clean and their restore back ups were corrupted. I had to reload everything. Their offer was a USD16 voucher redeemable in Oct 2008!!. Truly Pathetic customer service. Pity coz I hosted 5 sites with them, and they were OK. Now I know better. Charles
